Hill Country Chess is dedicated to bringing quality chess awareness, instruction,
and tournaments to the Hill country.
Hill Country Chess is primarily designed to help children and adolescents develop cognitive
skills for later in life.
Early registration for the Hill Country Scholastic and Open has now passed. We currently have 67 pre-registered players. A great turnout for the first tourney in Boerne. Please check the list, and should you have any questions please feel free to call me at 210-627-1320. Thank you, Shawn W Noland.
If you, and or your child, is new to tournament chess I have included a link that will help answer some questions pertaining to participation, etc. http://home.comcast.net/~danheisman/Scholastics/Dialog.htm. I am not Dan Heisman but I think his novice nook articles at www.chesscafe.com are excellent for beginning players.
I am actively pursuing a building space and plan on opening the Hill Country Chess Club very soon. The club will hold tournaments, have books available for purchase and check out, and offer instructional classes taught by with various Expert and Master teachers.
